Cadet Steve Young was the first Commanding Officer of the Sanger NJROTC in 1977 and had the honor of being the first Sanger cadet to be accepted to the Naval Academy in 1979 – the first of twenty one Sanger NJROTC cadets to attend Annapolis over the next eighteen years. First day of school as a freshman. And of all classes being late NJROTC. And Capt. Nick would not let it go. Front and center Mr. Martinez. Talk about embarrassment but, learned from that day on. Great man you are and I thank you Capt. Nick. Miss you so much and those amazing field trips.
