I’m trying to remember what month in 1968 that I spent /visit for 4 days on this ship in the gulf of Tonkin. I’m guessing that it was June through August. It was a pleasure watching the bombs being loaded on aircraft and their departure, instead of watching them unload their bombs. I was stationed at LZ Sharon close to the DMZ. My brother was a machinist on this ship. You served Real food!
When I got off of the mail plane every set of eyes on the flight deck we’re watching me walk to the tower. I was wearing jungle fatigues, with no insignia, tank , boots with no black , scuffed to just brown leather and covered with red dust. I had web hear, a 1911 45 and 18 magazines on me. I’m sure they hadn’t seen anything like me before.
I have a few pictures somewhere of the flight deck and aircraft that were there at that time.
My dad Norman G. Doggett II ( a photographer on the Enterprise at the time) took this photo. It says posted June 15 1968. But thats when the photo was taken not posted. Correct?

Correct. Granddad would have used the date the photo was taken.
